The Practical Test of your Ability to Teach
Minor into a Major Explanation
Phase 1
In the first half hour of this test the examiner will take the role of a pupil who is a beginner, or one with limited driving experience. You will be expected to introduce to the pupil a particular driving subject that he has not previously experienced.
Phase 2
In the second half of this test the examiner will then take on the role of a pupil who is about test standard or one who needs some form of driving development as an experienced driver.
The aim of this test is to assess the quality of the instruction you give and your ability to communicate at an appropriate level with the pupil whilst the car is moving. You are required to pass both phases to achieve an overall pass.

As part of the course you will be given full access to this training site that is restricted to general users. This enables you to use all associated material relevant to your driving instructor training requirements.
Like Part 2 you will be trained for this test in a Countywide vehicle and on a one to one basis.
The trainers will explain and demonstrate how to deliver an explanation on the various subject/s that you will be required to teach the role playing pupil.
The trainer will help develop your teaching ability and a give you clear understanding regarding how to keep control of the pupil through role play situations.
The Countywide training team will ensure that you have the ability to identify, give a correct analysis and remedial action on any simulated driving faults the role playing pupil may demonstrate.
You will be given mock tests building up to your Part 3 test, as this helps to ease any worries regarding teaching in a role play scenario.
We will also accompany you to examination where you will have the use of the car that you have given instruction in.
You are required to pass both phases to achieve a pass.
