Part One Training
The Theory Test
A computer based test of 100 multiple-choice questions drawn from the following subjects.
Road Procedure, Traffic Signs and Signals
Car Control, Pedestrians, Mechanics
Driving Test, Disabilities, Law
Publications Instructional Techniques
The overall pass mark for the multiple-choice test is 85%.
The Hazard Perception Test
A computer based test which comprises of a selection of film clips showing real road scenes and potential hazards.
Candidates will be assessed on how soon they spot the hazards. Each candidate will be tested on 14 film clips chosen at random from a series of 200.
The pass mark will be 57 out of a total of 75 possible marks.
You are required to pass both tests to achieve an overall pass and the result of your Part One exam is given immediately on completion.

As part of the course you will be given full access to this training site that is restricted to general users. This enables you to use all associated material relevant to your driving instructor training requirements.
The Theory Test
We will train you for the Theory and Hazard Perception test by means of weekly in-house seminars. You will be encouraged to work at your own pace whilst we monitor your progress and give you the opportunity to take mock tests prior to applying for Part 1.
You will be supplied with the Driving Standards Agency’s bank of multiple choice questions, hazard perception disc and Countywide supporting material.
We will give you a clear understanding on how to study and retain the necessary information.
These tests are very achievable due to a large percentage of the questions asked on the test have been selected from the bank of questions and suggested reading material supplied by the DSA.
The Hazard Perception Test
The hazard perception disc has numerous clips to heighten your awareness and enables you to practice until you feel confident enough to apply for the test.
The Countywide suggested methods and amount of studying will make these tests reachable goals for you.
