Supporting comments
Look ahead and assess the junction - for pedestrians, vehicles, obstructions, road works.
The timing of your signal will be dictated by the circumstances surrounding the junction at the time.
e.g.
Junctions prior to the one that you are going to take will mean: - you must signal immediately after the last turning you do not want to take.
If another vehicle is close behind you, it may be necessary to signal earlier to give the person behind more time to react.
Maintain your position, unless circumstances dictate otherwise.
Select the appropriate gear depending on the severity of the corner.
e.g.
Sharp corners 1st gear. Sweeping corners 2nd gear.
Always have your clutch foot to one side to prevent coasting.
REMEMBER
Check the appropriate exterior mirrors BEFORE you turn the wheel.
Right turns - Give way to oncoming traffic.
If you stop for any length of time for oncoming vehicles:- keep wheels straight and secure the car
Rule of thumb for timing your right turn ‘If you can walk across then you should be able to drive across’.
