Become An Approved Driving Instructor
Countywide trainers will help you to achieve qualifying as an Approved Driving Instructor in easy to follow stages that will enable you to study and practice at your own pace around your work and home commitments.
Your first step is to make an application for a Criminal Record Disclosure. This is to ensure that you are a “fit and proper” person to be entered onto the Driving Standards Agency register.
The CRB application process can take as long as two months. Providing you are confident that your application will be successful, there is no reason why you can not get started with your studying.
When you are in receipt of a current Criminal Record Disclosure you can then apply to the Driving Standards Agency to be entered onto the register.
When you have been included on the register you can book your Part 1 test.
Your Part 2 training will be carried out on a weekly basis at times to suit your diary and around your Part 1 study periods. Having passed Part 1 your trainer will help you to decide the best time to book your Part 2 test.
Having passed your Part 2 the trainer will commence with your Part 3 training. This training will also be carried out on a weekly basis to give you quality time to practice what you have been taught in your training sessions.
The training can also be done more intensively to suit your requirements.
When you have completed your 40 hours training you may decide to apply for a Trainee Licence to give you the opportunity to practice your Part 3 training in real life situations.
Throughout your Part 3 training you will be given regular feedback regarding the best time to apply for your Part 3 test.
When you have qualified Countywide will give you all the necessary help and advice for new career as an Approved Driving Instructor.
